Fez and inland Morocco weather

Far from the ocean, Fez and inland Morocco (Meknes, Beni Mellal, the Saiss plain) have a continental climate with four distinct seasons. The lack of maritime influence sharpens the extremes: summers are hot and dry, winters genuinely cold.
The four seasons
- Winter (Dec–Feb): cold, 4–16 °C, with occasional morning frost and rain; snow is not rare on the nearby heights.
- Spring (Mar–May): mild and green, 12–24 °C, the best time to visit.
- Summer (Jun–Aug): hot and dry, often 33–38 °C in the afternoon.
- Autumn (Sep–Nov): pleasant as the cool returns, ideal through November.
To explore the Fez medina, favour spring or autumn, gentler for walking. In winter, bring warm layers, especially morning and evening. Check the live Fez weather on MétéoMaroc to plan your day.
